1961年 東京生まれ。
1983年 ヴォーカルの山根栄子、ギターの佐橋佳幸、ドラムの松本淳らとロックバンド「UGUISS（うぐいす）」でレコードデビュー。アルバム1枚とシングル2枚をリリース。
1984年 バンド解散後、岩崎宏美、鈴木賢司、渡辺美里、宮原学らのレコーディングやライブサポートを行う。
1990年 解散したレベッカのメンバーと宮原学らと共に「Baby’s Breath」を結成し、アルバム2枚をリリース。
1991年 Baby’s Breath解散。以降、泉谷しげる、GAO、山下久美子、F-Blood、Cocco、槇原敬之、エレファント・カシマシ、Mamallaid Rag、松たか子、Scoop on Somebody、大黒摩季、吉井和哉などのサポートやレコーディングに参加。
2008年 山下達郎のライブ活動復帰に伴い、セカンドキーボードとしてバンドに参加。2025年現在まで全ツアーに同行。同時に竹内まりやのライブツアーにも参加。
山下達郎＆竹内まりやのライブにおいて欠かせない存在となる。
2012年 「はっぴいえんど」のギタリスト・鈴木茂のバンドに参加。アルバム『BandWagon』全曲演奏ライブDVDをリリース。
2013年 鈴木茂「大滝詠一を歌う」ツアーに参加。同年、故・山根栄子に代わりヴォーカルに渡辺美里を迎え、「UGUISS feat. MISATO」としてシングル『Sweet Revenge』をリリース。
「UGUISS 30th Anniversary Edison」アルバムを発表し、全国ツアーを実施。
2023年 藤井フミヤ、Charのツアーに参加。
2024年 デビュー40周年を記念し、「UGUISS」の1stと2ndアルバムをカップリングした『UGUISS 40th Anniversary』アナログ盤をリリース。冨田麗香、Dr.Kyonらを迎えて記念ツアーを開催。
2024年11月 「UGUISS」として41年ぶりとなる新曲『君は夜の月』をリリース。 Born in Tokyo in 1961.
In 1983, he made his record debut with the rock band "UGUISS" with vocalist Eiko Yamane, guitarist Yoshiyuki Sahashi, and drummer Jun Matsumoto. They released one album and two singles.
After the band broke up in 1984, he performed as a recording and live support member for Hiromi Iwasaki, Kenji Suzuki, Misato Watanabe, Manabu Miyahara, and others.
In 1990, he formed "Baby's Breath" with members of the disbanded Rebecca and Manabu Miyahara, and they released two albums.
Baby's Breath disbanded in 1991. Since then, he has participated in support and recordings for Shigeru Izumiya, GAO, Kumiko Yamashita, F-Blood, Cocco, Noriyuki Makihara, Elephant Kashimashi, Mamalaid Rag, Takako Matsu, Skoop on Somebody, Maki Oguro, Kazuya Yoshii, and others.
In 2008, with the return of Tatsuro Yamashita to live activities, he joined the band as a second keyboardist. He has accompanied all tours to date in 2025. At the same time, he also participated in Mariya Takeuchi's live tours.
He has become an indispensable presence in the live performances of Tatsuro Yamashita & Mariya Takeuchi.
In 2012, he joined the band of Shigeru Suzuki, the guitarist of "Happy End." They released a live DVD of a full performance of the album "BandWagon."
In 2013, he participated in Shigeru Suzuki's "Singing Eiichi Ohtaki" tour. In the same year, with Misato Watanabe on vocals in place of the late Eiko Yamane, they released the single "Sweet Revenge" as "UGUISS feat. MISATO."
They released the album "UGUISS 30th Anniversary Edison" and held a national tour.
In 2023, he participated in tours for Fumiya Fujii and Char.
In 2024, to commemorate their 40th anniversary, they released the analog record "UGUISS 40th Anniversary," which coupled UGUISS's 1st and 2nd albums. They held a commemorative tour with Reika Tomita, Dr.Kyon, and others.
In November 2024, they will release their first new song in 41 years as "UGUISS," titled "Kimi wa Yoru no Tsuki."
